"No interference but will ensure fair elections": Governor Bose

West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose embarked on a visit to Dinhata, where he is scheduled to meet Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and workers injured in a recent political clash between parties. According to sources from Raj Bhavan, Governor Bose's visit aims to assess the ground situation following the altercation. Before his departure, Governor Bose articulated his concerns, stating, "you know that bad weather has been forecast in North Bengal. I'm going to see what the climate is like. This is because the political environment there is not good, I am going to see that also." He underscored his commitment to fair elections, stressing, "We want free and fair elections. Please, I am going to visit the affected parties. Look at the situation at the ground level. Basically, it's a reality check tour."

Governor Bose reiterated his stance against election-related violence, recalling past incidents and affirming the need for prevention. He assured that he would not intervene in the Election Commission's activities but would await a brief report from the Director General of Police (DGP). The Governor emphasized his readiness to take decisive action where necessary, stating, "Wherever there is violence, I will be in the field and also take active decisions." With a focus on maintaining peace and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process, Governor Bose's visit underscores the importance of addressing ground realities in the lead-up to elections.
